The Shapiro Company assisted the development by quietly optioning an entire block of row homes.
PROJECT: THE WINE SOURCE CLIENT: DAVID WELLS DESCRIPTION: David Wells operated a specialty wine store in a community mall, and wanted to find his own larger building in the same community. He identified a site that was not on the market and asked The Shapiro Company for assistance. The Shapiro Company negotiated a purchase of the building and oversaw the complete redevelopment of the property, including a zoning change and the design and construction of a 9,600 square foot wine and cheese store.
PROJECT: HARRIS RUBIN CLIENT: RICK RUBIN DESCRIPTION: Harris Rubin is a nationally recognized contemporary furniture design company based in Baltimore City that was outgrowing its space. The Shapiro Company initiated a search for a building to meet the firm's need for a unique site with increased production and showcase space. After finding an appropriate building, The Shapiro Company oversaw the initial mechanical, environmental and structural inspections of the property to determine its overall condition. Afterwards, The Shapiro Company worked with local lenders and recommended a financial package for the purchase and upgrade of the building.
PROJECT: OSCAR T. SMITH CLIENT: JOHN PORTA DESCRIPTION: The Oscar T. Smith Company was a 60 year old printing company operating out of a seven story warehouse in the central business district.
