Building on our strength as a local force in the Baltimore real estate market, The Shapiro Company develops a diversified mix of property types including commercial, retail, industrial and residential.  As specialists in urban redevelopment and adaptive use, we generally renovate underutilized and obsolete properties, sometimes combining new construction with rehabilitation.

The Shapiro Company has extensive experience working with neighborhood associations and community residents.  Many of our projects require zoning changes and Urban Renewal Plan ordinance amendments.  We accomplish this by being sensitive and responsive to communities' needs and desires. 

Our record for completing projects as promised has served us well when competing with other developers.  We have an outstanding track record in responding to government sponsored Requests for Proposal (RFP), having been awarded six of the seven projects for which we competed.  We frequently leverage our knowledge and experience by partnering with larger development companies.  This partnering arrangement enables us to choose the best partner for a particular project.
